The Cleveland Browns were once again the worst team in the NFL last season. Part of the reason was the play at quarterback. With a boatload of draft picks, the Browns are in a position to fix this deficiency. That’s assuming, of course, that they pick the right guy.

But according to what draft analyst has been hearing, they aren’t exactly in love with any of the available quarterbacks enough to make him the No. 1 pick in the draft.

According to Tony Pauline at DraftAnalyst.com, the Browns “are not presently enamored with any of the top quarterbacks.” They don’t seem to think anyone is a must-have guy. So rather than use the No. 1 pick on a quarterback, Pauline believes they are going to take Penn State running back Saquon Barkley instead.

Isaiah Crowell is a serviceable back, but he has not given anyone reason to think he could become the next great running back in the NFL. Barkley, on the other hand, appears to be the kind of running back the NFL loves. Not only is he a capable runner, but he’s an incredible threat in the passing game as well.

But don’t worry Browns fans. Just because the team is not enamored with anyone does not mean they don’t plan on taking a quarterback early. Thanks to last season’s trade with the Houston Texans, they have the No. 4 pick as well.

Pauline thinks they will end up taking USC quarterback Sam Darnold.

Why not take him with the first pick and make sure they get him? The Giants are expected to take a QB with the No. 2 pick. Easy—because they are okay with the idea of selecting whoever the Giants don’t take. With the Colts expected to take Bradley Chubb with the No. 3 pick they’ll still get to pick from an impressive selection of players.

So, not only do they get the best running back in the draft, but they get one of the best quarterbacks as well.
