It turns out the Cleveland Browns are not the frontrunners for the services of free agent defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.
According to NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo (via 247Sports.com's Josh Edwards), McCoy will visit Cleveland “in the next day.”
The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens are among the three or four teams that free agent defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is strongly considering according to Cleveland.com.
The Browns are not the favorite to land the free agent, however. He intends to make his first visit to Cleveland ‘in the next day' according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Free agent DT Gerald McCoy has told interested teams he will visit the #Browns first, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Visit to happen in the next day. Among the other interested teams in the former #Buccaneers lineman are the #Panthers and #Bengals.

Aside from the teams Garafolo mentioned, the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts are also interested in the 31-year-old McCoy, per Edwards.
Browns general manager John Dorsey told Cleveland.com's mary Kay Cabot McCoy will visit the team on Friday.
“He's a good player,” Dorsey told Cabot. “Like I've always told y'all I will turn over every stone. He will visit Cleveland tomorrow.”
Cabot says the Browns are among the three or four teams on McCoy's short list. She confirms they “are not the frontrunners right now,” citing a team source. However, that could change when Dorsey and Co. make their sale pitch to McCoy on Friday.
Updated: #Browns are not currently the frontrunners to land Gerald McCoy, source tells me. But that could all change tomorrow when they get him in the building and sell him on this up-and-coming team https://t.co/SrTcKMxDyt

The other teams in the running for McCoy include the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, per Cleveland.com. Cabot says the New England Patriots “are not currently in the mix,” per her source.
McCoy “is intrigued by the Browns in part because they're a young up-and-coming team and have a good chance of making the playoffs this year,” per Cabot. McCoy also likes the Ravens' defense. Plus, he has some friends who play for Baltimore.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released McCoy on May 20. He spent his first nine seasons in the NFL with the Bucs. He earned six Pro Bowl nods during his stint in Tampa Bay.
