Terrelle Pryor Sr. spent his most productive year as an NFL wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns in 2016. And if Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com is to be believed, the Browns will look to get Pryor back in town in the very near future.

“I do believe the Browns will pursue Pryor, and I think he would want to come back to Cleveland,” Cabot said. “I don't think he ever he really wanted to leave in the first place, but before he could work something out with the the Browns, they had signed Kenny Britt to the four-year, $32.5 million deal they originally offered Pryor, and the opportunity dried up.”

Pryor, who began his career as a quarterback before transitioning as a wide receiver, enjoyed a breakout year with the Browns in 2016. He had 77 catches for 1,007 receiving yards and four touchdowns that season, which were all tops on the team.

However, he was unable to secure a long-term contract in free agency and had to settle for a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins. His numbers in Washington were very disappointing as he had just 20 catches for 240 yards in nine games. However, he was suffering from an ankle injury since Week 2 and finally decided to have season-ending surgery on said ankle in November.

The Browns could obviously do with having Pryor’s services back for next year; Ricardo Louis was the team’s top wide receiver last season with a mere 27 catches for 357 yards. Getting a full season out of Josh Gordon would also help, but they will still need a lot more talented players like Pryor on their receiving corps to put their next quarterback in a better position to succeed.
