The Cleveland Browns have been strongly linked with Dez Bryant over the last couple of weeks and are still very much interested in the former All-Pro wideout at this time. But despite their apparent interest, Bryant has yet to even agree to a meeting with the team.

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, there’s an impression within the Browns that Bryant actually isn’t seriously interested in coming to Cleveland.

There was a report a few weeks ago that Bryant had only eyes on joining up with a contender on a one-year deal. It makes sense that despite the Browns’ moves to improve this offseason, they probably don’t qualify that specific requirement.

Whatever Bryant’s reasons for not meeting with the Browns, it’s clear Cleveland could use a bit more help at receiver at the moment. With the Browns trading away former first-rounder Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills and Josh Gordon’s status still uncertain, rookie Antonio Callaway might be the second-best receiver behind Jarvis Landry. If Bryant indeed isn’t interested in going, the Browns better look elsewhere to find reinforcements at receiver.

As for Bryant, it remains to be seen which team he’s actually looking to join. The Patriots, a top contender that was in need of a receiver, opted to go with Eric Decker instead. And aside from the Browns, he hasn’t been strongly linked with any other team. With preseason set to kick off, he’s running out of time to latch onto a team before the regular season begins.
