Dez Bryant didn’t get a deal done with the Cleveland Browns following his visit Thursday. But he and his agent are still in town and will continue talks with Browns general manager John Dorsey Friday, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Although, a league source also told Cabot that a deal is still not expected to be completed by the end of the day.

The Browns host the Buffalo Bills tonight in their second preseason game.

Bryant stopped by the Browns' in-house radio studio yesterday and made a surprise appearance on Cleveland Browns Daily.

“I'm happy to be here, you know excited, you know just trying to work out some things,” Bryant said.

Several members of the Browns organization — head coach Hue Jackson, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarvis Landry have all expressed their enthusiasm at the prospect of Bryant coming to Cleveland in recent days. Dorsey has also been complimentary of the veteran.

“I look at Dez as a very competitive, passionate person,” Dorsey said. “That's how I look at a Dez Bryant.”

The Browns could certainly use a receiver of Bryant’s caliber on their roster. With Josh Gordon still not with the team, Corey Coleman shipped to Buffalo, and rookie Antonio Callaway getting himself into trouble with the law, the Browns suddenly have no reliable option behind Landry on the depth chart.

It remains to be seen if the Browns can successfully convince Bryant to waive his requirement of playing for a contender in order to come over. But if he does, he could go some way in helping the Browns become much more competitive this season.
