Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is currently off to one of the more formidable starts to a season in his career, which has impressed Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Garrett leads the NFL in sacks with 9.5. He is well on pace to shatter his career-high for sacks in a single campaign, especially as he recorded 13.5 sacks in his second year with the team.

Roethlisberger is set to lead the Steelers to a major AFC North clash with the Browns in Week 8. And as was the case in previous Steelers against Browns duels, Roethlisberger will have an eye on Garrett, who he lauded during a press conference ahead of the matchup.

“He’s the man,” Roethlisberger said.

The Browns added several key talents to the defense over the offseason, from signing defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to selecting cornerback Greg Newsome II with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Roethlisberger will keep a close watch on this Browns defense in Week 8 because of one notable reason.

“The additions they have from D-line to secondary,” Roethlisberger said. “They don’t try and complicate and confuse you. It’s like, ‘we are just better than you and we are going to line up and beat ya.'”

Roethlisberger has had a multitude of success in going up against Browns pass defenses in years past. But he will have much work to do in Week 8 against a potent Browns defense that currently ranks eighth in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game with a 215.1 average.

In what may be his final road clash with the Browns, Roethlisberger could be in for a long day against Garrett and company.
