Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is feeling good today after leading the team on a game winning drive over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Following the five-play, 75-yard drive with which Mayfield culminated a 24-yard pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones for the touchdown to finish off the Bengals, the former Oklahoma standout was pumped up in the locker room.

While he may not want to get too excited about this will (it is the Bengals after all), his confidence to go for the win down by three and accomplish it is a good sign for the Browns. Talking to the media, he mentioned how confident he was going into the final drive.

ā€œI told the guys screw that. Weā€™re going to win it,ā€ Mayfield said about the possibility of just settling for a field goal and the tie.

This is a big change in Mayfield following a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, which led many to question his position as the Browns' franchise quarterback.

Mayfield played so poorly that head coach Kevin Stefanski even benched him for Case Keenum late in the game. While not as decisive of a win as many Browns fans would have liked, the win over Cincinnati, and Mayfield's confidence going into the last drive, should bring hope that the Browns are still on the right track, even if they are not where they thought they would be at this point in the rebuilding process.

What makes the win even more impressive is the fact that the Browns won despite losing star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in the first quarter.
