The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a solid performance against the Detroit Lions, winning by a comfortable margin, 38-17. However, it may have come at a cost. Chris Godwin suffered a big injury in the process.

ESPN's Jenna Laine reported that the hamstring injury the wide receiver sustained during the game is looking more ominous than it seems.

According to Bruce Arians' words, it may be possible that he would have to play against the Houston Texans next week without either Godwin or Mike Evans. This is a huge hit on his offense as both Evans and Goodwin are important pieces of the Tampa Bay receiving corps.

Godwin's injury is especially painful for the Buccaneers as he had an especially great game before falling due to injury. He led all receivers in the game with his 121 receiving yards. While he didn't get the opportunity to complete a touchdown pass, the fact that he got a lot of yards is enough of a testament to his talent as a wide receiver.

With Godwin likely out of the Houston game, they will be hoping that anyone from the rest of the Tampa Bay receivers will be able to step up. Breshad Perriman is the likely next man up as he's had a solid performance against the Lions. He finished the game with 113 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Other names that could compete for targets are Scotty Miller and O.J. Howard.

However, there's no doubt that Arians and the rest of Bucs Nation would rather have Godwin back in the field. He's notched 1,212 yards this season and is close to beating Evans' single-season record of receiving yards collected.
