The Boston Bruins were already dealt a significant blow with the loss of Charlie McAvoy for Game 4 against the Hurricanes, but things were made potentially worse for Boston after an incident towards the end of the second period. While the Bruins were on the power play, an errant Sebastian Aho high stick caught star forward Patrice Bergeron above the eye. He instantly covered his face and skated over to the sideline, where you could see a stream of blood trickling from his face.

Despite having a cut that clearly needed tending to, Bergeron insisted he be allowed to remain on the ice to see out the remainder of the second period, for which Boston would have a Power Play. Unfortunately, despite his demands, he didn't get his way, as he was told to head to the locker room to get his eye properly taken care of.

He reluctantly agreed to stay off the ice until the end of the period, but not before barking at the ref a bit, proving once and for all he's one of the toughest dudes in the sport.

Bergeron provided the Bruins' first goal of the game on Sunday, evening the score at 1-1 with a well-placed shot in the first period. Not having him available would be a big loss to Boston's special teams unit, as he's a key member of their Power Play unit and a major contributor when on the ice, constantly firing off shots and looking to set up teammates.

While the Bruins star was dripping blood from the nasty-looking cut above his eye, he wasn't out long, taking the ice with his teammates at the start of the third period, all patched up and ready to go.
