The PGA Tour needed a fire to be put out on Monday, and of course, it was Bryson DeChambeau that was at the center of it all. At least he was the one who put out the flames this time, even though it was reported that he started it all anyways by telling some people earlier this month at the Saudi Invitational that he would not be playing in anymore PGA tour events due to hip and hand injuries. DeChambeau came out rather swiftly in an attempt to show that those reports are wholly inaccurate in a Tweet that said:

“There are many false reports going around by the media that are completely inaccurate. Any news regarding my health or playing schedule will come directly from me and my team only. This is just another inaccurate report. I look forward to getting healthy and seeing everyone soon!” – Bryson DeChambeau

Even though DeChambeau says that he is hoping to get healthy, he isn't there just yet. He missed last week's WM Phoenix Open and isn't planning to play this week, either. This week's event is the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in DeChambeau's home state of California. DeChambeau has played in the Genesis in every full season of his career, so one would think that Bryson would be out there this week if he could. Regardless of when/if he is ever going to be back to full health this year, DeChambeau has at least put to bed the notion that his season is already finished.
