Tom Brady is officially the new man under center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Brady officially in place in Tampa, the future Hall of Fame quarterback is about to inherit two big weapons in wide receiver Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

While Evans has been a staple of the Buccaneers — and entire NFL for that matter — for the last several seasons, it was actually Godwin who quickly emerged as an equally legitimate threat at the wide receiver position last season. Because Evans has become a bit injury prone over the years in addition to the fact that the veteran pass catcher encounters a ton of double teams all over the field, it may be Godwin's time to shine with Brady all of a sudden in the fold for the Buccaneers.

As a result, Godwin will surely see his fair share of targets from Brady next season, which will no doubt bode extremely well for both the up-and-coming wide out and the Buccaneers as a team.

Chris Godwin will lead the NFL in receiving yards in 2020

Over the course of 14 regular season games in 2019, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin produced an impressive 1,333 receiving yards en route to ranking third in the NFL in this category. Despite this eye-popping effort, Godwin managed to tally such numbers with current free agent quarterback Jameis Winston, which means that he will surely outdo himself under the direction of a future Hall of Famer in former New England Patriots signal caller Tom Brady.

Not only will Godwin once again set a single-season career-high mark in what will be his fourth professional campaign, but he will actually lead the entire league in receiving yards in 2020. This is going to take quite the effort, though, as New Orleans Saints wide out Michael Thomas most recently led the NFL with 1,725 receiving yards in 2019.

Chris Godwin will score more than 10 touchdowns

In 2019, his third go-round as a NFL wide receiver, Tampa Bay Buccaners pass catcher Chris Godwin recorded a single-season career-high nine touchdown receptions. As a result of his rookie season back in 2017, Godwin scored just one touchdown before really upping the ante in 2018, posting seven scores.

Because he has continually improved in this department, there is no reason to believe that the former Penn State Nittany Lions standout won't do so once again in 2020. Not only that, but Godwin now has former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady directly the Buccaneers offense, which will surely improve everyone's numbers across all fronts. Brady will definitely spread the football out across the field with fellow Tampa Bay wide out Mike Evans also slated to receive a ton of targets. However, it will ultimately be Godwin who quickly becomes Brady's most reliable red zone target as he will go on to catch at least 10 touchdown passes in 2020.

It is also worth noting that Godwin has the ability to separate from defenders, especially in single coverage as the aforementioned Evans will certainly encounter his fair share of double coverage. With that in mind, Godwin will score even when the Buccaneers are not in the red zone, thanks to his big play ability.

Chris Godwin will catch a postseason touchdown

It has been quite some time since the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reached the postseason. However, in Tampa Bay's defense, it is not easy to reach the playoffs when playing in the same division as the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers — all of which have made very deep postseason runs over the course of the last several seasons.

Nonetheless, the Buccaneers just inherited the best quarterback in NFL history as New England Patriots legend Tom Brady has taken the show south to Florida. Despite gearing up to join a new team for the first time in his more than two-decade-long NFL career, Brady surely won't allow his new team to miss out on the postseason when the 2020 regular season comes to a close — especially with the future Hall of Famer sporting a slew of talented players around him.

In addition to wide receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, Brady will also have the tight end tandem of Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard at his disposal.

While it remains to be seen as to whether or not Brady can take the typically lowly Buccaneers all the way to a Super Bowl appearance, the playoffs definitely remain within reach. If the Buccaneers are able to ultimately reach the postseason, Godwin will surely be on the receiving end of at least one Brady touchdown pass.
