Free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown has reportedly reached a settlement in a civil sexual lawsuit filed against him by Britney Taylor almost two years ago.

Brown made the announcement through his representative Alana Burstyn, founder, and owner of OFM, a sports talent and management firm, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The trial for the lawsuit was set to begin later this year before it was announced that a settlement has been reached between the two sides and released statements about the agreement.

“Antonio Brown and Britney have been friends for over a decade. Several years ago they almost became business partners,” part of the statement reads. “Recently, they were involved in aggressive litigation. Having reflected on their relationship, both feel the time has come to move on. Antonio is grateful for Britney’s excellent training assistance. They are pleased that Antonio is doing so well with the Bucs and has a ring. Their dispute is resolved and they wish each other great continued success.”

Taylor was previously Brown’s personal trainer and alleged back in 2019 that he sexually assaulted her multiple times in 2017 and 2018. The seven-time Pro Bowler was also suspended for the first eight games of the previous NFL season due to violations of the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

The suspension delayed his debut for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he finally took the field for the team in Week 9. Antonio Brown ended the regular season with 45 catches for 483 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the Buccaneers, before helping them win Super Bowl 55 later in the season, which was also Brown’s first NFL title.

The four-time First-Team All-Pro receiver, however, remains a free agent this offseason after his contract with Tampa Bay expired, although the settlement of the lawsuit may help him return to the Buccaneers or find a new team.
