Antonio Brown's resigning with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was announced a couple of weeks ago but now, it seems like the deal is yet to be etched into stone. That's because the star wide receiver is undergoing knee surgery, causing the delay.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians discussed the matter on the Pewter Report Podcast, detailing the next steps for both Tampa Bay and AB.

“He has to pass the physical,” Arians said. “Hopefully we'll have a scope on Tuesday, he's getting his knee cleaned out, and everything will work out fine. It's just a matter of a physical.” – Bruce Arians on the Pewter Report Podcast.

It's odd that Brown would've waited this long into the offseason for the procedure. He dealt with the injury throughout the regular season in 2020 with the Buccaneers and it's what caused him to miss the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers. Regardless, Arians is optimistic that everything will settle in soon enough for AB and the Buccaneers.

“We wanted AB back,” Arians said. “He was a model citizen the whole time he’s been here. We wanted him back and he’s never had surgery in his life. It’s just a matter of [getting a] physical done. I wanted him back the whole time.” – Bruce Arians.

AB certainly adds another layer to an already dangerous Buccaneers offense. Brown, along with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, gives Tom Brady more than enough to work with in Tampa Bay's offense.

The Buccaneers have aspirations of repeating in 2021. Getting Antonio Brown back into the fold and seeing him pass his physical is a step in the right direction.
