Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber are part of an intriguing plot point in the latest journey of Bruce Arians as an NFL head coach.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently play in one of the tougher — if not the toughest — divisions in football. As a result, the NFC South franchise will have to rise to the challenge in 2019.

This offseason remains an interesting one for the Buccaneers as Tampa Bay notably hired former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians to lead the charge going forward. With a new head coach obviously comes some change with Arians now attempting to put his best team possible out on the field.

One of the several spots that remains uncertain for Arians and company is the running back position with the tandem of Ronald jones and Peyton Barber currently slated to battle it out. With both players almost certain to make the team's final 53-man roster, this duo is now fighting for playing time as the Buccaneers starting running back.

In addition to the Buccaneers, the NFC South is also home to the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. With at least two of these teams slated to make a serious run in the NFC, all three could very well end up in the playoffs when all is said and done in 2019. With that in mind, the Buccaneers will continue to build from the ground up under the direction of Arians.

The Buccaneers finished last season with a disappointing 5-11 record; a similar fate could be in the cards this time around unless Bruce Arians can turn things around in a hurry.

A strong No. 1 running back can help him do that and take pressure off Jameis Winston.
