The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went into the bye with a loss to the New Orleans Saints, so the assumption was the defending champions would come out of the bye looking sharp against a weak Washington Football Team. Instead, the Buccaneers laid an egg and suffered a 29-19 road loss to drop to 6-3 on the season.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was brutally honest about his team's performance after the game:

It's never good when the coach comes out and says his team didn't have the right energy in a game, especially coming out of a bye and after losing the last time out. It's especially crazy for a Tom Brady-led squad.

The Buccaneers were fighting from behind almost right after the opening kickoff. Brady threw two early picks that helped Tampa Bay get in a 13-0 hole. The GOAT did bounce back and got his team back in the game, but he never got a chance to go for the win.

After the Buccaneers made it 23-19 in the fourth quarter, Taylor Heinicke led Washington on a 19-play, 80-yard touchdown drive that chewed up over 10 minutes. It put Washington up 29-19 with 29 seconds to play, effectively ending the game.

Brady wound up completing 23 out of 34 passes for 220 yards, two touchdowns and those two interceptions. Tampa was without Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, but that's no excuse for losing this game with the talent still on the roster.

The Buccaneers will look to end their losing streak in Week 11 against the New York Giants.
