With aspirations to once again reach the Super Bowl, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have high standards and lofty expectations. Last night's 29-19 loss against the Washington Football Team was the epitome of what should not have occurred for the reigning champions. Head coach Bruce Arians had some harsh words to say on his team's performance, while also critiquing quarterback Tom Brady in particular. Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, here's what the Tampa Bay coach had to say:

It's about execution and being a smart football team. We're a very dumb football team. And that's a reflection on the coaches.”

Bruce Arians also had some specific words for Brady, as well as the team's lack of offensive production:

“It has nothing to do with the receivers. It was him.”

Star quarterback Tom Brady struggled greatly against a Washington team not likely to make the playoffs. It was just only the third time in his career where Brady threw two interceptions in the first half, and also one of the greatest upsets he faced. Against the worst pass defense who also happened to lose star Chase Young in the first half, Brady struggled to throw the ball and complete passes, finishing 23/34 in attempts.

Tampa Bay's defense wasn't much better. The top ranked run defense in the league allowed for Washington running back Antonio Gibson to score two rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw for 256 passing yards.

If the Buccaneers want to keep their postseason hopes alive, the team will need to provide better execution and chemistry as a team. They still sit at the top of the NFC South with a record of 6-3, but will need to come together for a deep run in the playoffs.
