One of the keys for new Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians is to try and get the most out of quarterback Jameis Winston. Arians has only had a few days to work with Winston but so far has been really impressed with what he has seen out of the former first overall pick.

“It’s amazing. I mean, he was getting the third and fourth reads quickly today,’’ Arians said, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “He was off his first read, and that was not the easiest secondary to read. There was a lot of movement from quarters, to single high to man. I was extremely pleased with that part of it. I don’t think the defense got their hands on any of his (passes).

“That last throw, that was the fifth read in that play and he was on it so fast and he could tell me why. It’s one thing to throw a completion, but tell me why you did it. That’s nice.”

This is still just offseason workouts and everything that happens here needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's still a good sign that he's not making a bad impression on Arians.

There has been a lot of talks the last few years about Winston and if he could stay in the league but maybe a change in a coach was all he needed to take the next step forward in the league.

Look for more talk about Arians and Winston's relationship as the summer and fall go on.
