Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is a free agent in the NFL's 2020 offseason, and head coach Bruce Arians is thinking out loud whether the NFC South club should replace him under center or not.

Via ESPN's Jenna Laine:

“No, because you don’t know who’s available. You’re just sitting and waiting to see, is there someone available? And is he a better option? That’s the problem. You get about three days to decide — the legal tampering [period]. Is somebody else gonna get let go? What’s the trade values? It’s really monotonous right now because you don’t really have any answers.”

Winston, 26, was selected with the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers following a Heisman Trophy campaign with local outfit FSU. After earning a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie season, Winston has not done much other than polarize fans and pundits as one of the most controversial signal-callers in the NFL. During the most recent regular season in 2019, Winston led the league in both passing yards (5,109) and interceptions (30), leading parties interested in Tampa Bay's future to dismiss re-signing the former Seminole.

The question is, however, as Arians alluded to, how much better can the Buccaneers due on the market than Winston?

Much of the offseason has been spent, for the Buccaneers organization, in distancing itself from Winston, but Arians—who has coached the QB for only a single season—isn't completely shutting down bringing him back.

Winston, still with the Buccaneers, has also been linked to the newly relocated Las Vegas Raiders, who have an interesting relationship with franchise quarterback Derek Carr.
