Chris Godwin knows the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new superstar quarterback in veteran Tom Brady. While many will argue he is the greatest of all time, that does not mean he is immune to criticism.

One problem area that critics tend to zero in on is his arm strength, more specifically his lack of arm strength.

Chris Godwin has come to the defense of his new quarterback. David Harrison of Bucsnation.com notes that Godwin has weighed in on the debate.

“Over the last couple of years you’ve heard people on TV talking about Tom, and they love to talk about how his arm is dying, or he’s not what he used to be,” Chris Godwin told Buccaneers reporter Casey Phillips. “Because of that I was just expecting to see, you know, not that great of arm strength or whatever. But we get out and start throwing and he’s letting that thing rip. Like, he’s letting it fly. There’s a lot of velocity on the ball, a lot of touch and there’s a difference, you know. I’m glad people are talking down about it, because I know the truth about it, and I’m excited about what’s to come.”

Chris Godwin is speaking on experience. Basically, he is ripping everyone who has commented on Brady's arm without actually playing with him.

Chris Godwin was expecting to see Brady's arm look weak. Instead he sees him throwing the ball deep with a lot of velocity and touch.

Tampa Bay is certainly an exciting team. Tom Brady and Chris Godwin are joined by Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski to create possibly the scariest passing attack in the upcoming season.
