The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have waived Deji Olatoye. That's the sad news. The good is that it was done to promote Hard Knocks star Riley Bullough to the active roster.

Let's discuss the released talent first.

Olatoye played in only three games for Tampa bay. He played 51 special teams snaps, but no defensive snaps. He made the Atlanta Falcons out of training camp and appeared in two games before the National Football League franchise waived him in September.

That stinks for him. However, for the Bucs, he wasn't exactly a player of consequence.

As for Riley Bullough, even though he didn't make the roster out of camp, he became a star personality on HBO's hit series Hard Knocks. For whatever it is worth, Tampa Bay has given the reality star  two different stints on the active roster this season.

Is this a giant move that will forever change the Buccaneers? Of course not. However, given the popularity of Hard Knocks, it might create some extra buzz for fans of the team, as it is always neat to root for someone you feel like you have an emotional connection with — even if it is somewhat manufactured by way of a television product.
