It looks like Jameis Winston may have taken his last snap with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, Winston is likely to leave the Buccaneers in free agency this offseason, which would end his five-year run as Tampa Bay's quarterback.

Winston is coming off of a strange 2019 campaign in which he led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards and threw 33 touchdowns, but also topped the league with 30 interceptions, making him the first player in NFL history to tally 30 touchdowns and 30 picks in the same season.

To be fair, the 26-year-old was dealing with a torn meniscus and a thumb injury, and he also underwent LASIK surgery to repair his shaky vision earlier this offseason.

However, Winston has been a disappointment ever since the Bucs took him with the first overall pick out of Florida State back in 2015.

He actually showed some promise over his first couple of seasons, but his less-than-stellar accuracy and his penchant for turning the ball over has remained a problem.

Things took a turn for the worse for Winston during his third season, when he played in just 13 games and finished with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and in 2018, he was briefly benched and totaled 19 touchdowns and 14 picks.

The Buccaneers have remained coy on Winston's status for 2020, but the general belief has long been that Tampa Bay will ultimately move on from the Bessemer, Al. native this offseason.

The Bucs went 7-9 in 2019 and have not made the playoffs since the 2007-08 campaign, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFC.
