Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead is currently nursing a fully torn labrum which includes additional shoulder damage. His injury situation forced him to be a limited participant in a couple of practices this past week but will reportedly suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV on Sunday, per NFL‘s Ian Rapoport.

The former Pittsburgh product sustained the injury midway through the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers. He was going after Packers running back Jamaal Williams to make a tackle but had an awkward landing on the turf in the third quarter of the tilt.

Whitehead further aggravated his situation when he dealt a blow to another Packers ball-carrier in Aaron Jones for a forced fumble which forced him to head to the locker room. He finished the contest with four total tackles and was integral to the Buccaneers' 31-26 win.

The safety is expected to take some snaps off on Sunday amid the pain that he is currently experiencing. Backup free safety Andrew Adams will most likely see more action to relieve Whitehead from time to time.

Aside from Whitehead, the Buccaneers' defensive unit will also receive a boost as safety Antoine Winfield Jr. will suit up after missing time due to an ankle injury. Linebacker Lavonte David will also see action on Sunday after nursing a hamstring injury.

With the help of their returning defensive players, the Buccaneers will aim to deny the Kansas City Chiefs from winning their second straight Super Bowl title on Feb. 7.
