Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander is scheduled to become a free agent for the first time this March, but if he has it his way, he won't be going very far.

Alexander, who played in just six games this past season due to a torn ACL, says he would love to stay with the Buccaneers:

“Yeah, I love Tampa, man. I love Tampa Bay,” Alexander said on WDAE, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. “This is where they first brought me [in]. I’ve just been balling. I just love everything about it.”

As for whether or not Alexander expects to be back in 2019? He doesn't know yet:

“We’re just going to find out what happens in free agency,” Alexander said.

In the limited time in which he played in 2018, Alexander registered 45 tackles, a sack, and a couple of forced fumbles.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the fourth round (124th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in 12 games during his rookie campaign and was impressive, finishing with 92 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, a pair of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and nine passes defended.

The following year, Alexander broke out, racking up 145 tackles, three sacks, a pick, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, seven passes defended, and a defensive touchdown. Then, in 2017, the Oxford, Al. native made his first Pro Bowl after tallying 97 stops, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and four passes defended.

The Buccaneers went just 5-11 this past season, but they'll look to bounce back under new head coach Bruce Arians.
