A key player in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense recently took a step closer to returning to the gridiron for the upcoming season. Wide receiver Mike Evans was previously listed as doubtful yesterday but was eventually upgraded to questionable on their injury report.

Despite the positive development in Evans' situation, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians has said all week that he still considers the veteran as a game-time decision. His status is yet to determined until it’s time to turn in the list of inactive players to the officials prior to kick-off.

The Buccaneers offense will certainly miss the presence of Evans in the event that he will be sidelined in their opening game. The 27-year old player has established himself as one of the league's best hands and has also won three trips to the Pro Bowl in his young career thus far.

Despite missing three games in 2019, Evans still managed to keep his 1,000 receiving yards streak alive for the sixth-straight season. He posted a total of 1,1157 receiving yards on 67 receptions and 8 scored touchdowns for the Buccaneers last season.

Heading into 2020, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to open a new chapter with six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady at the helm. Evans will remain to be a major contributor along with another Pro Bowl wideout in Chris Godwin. Running back Leonard Fournette and three-time champion tight end Rob Gronkowski complete the cast for the stacked roster.

Buccaneers fans can only hope to have Mike Evans around for their first game as the team aims to make an opening day statement against division rival New Orleans Saints on September 13.
