The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh on a one-year deal worth $8 million, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Suh initially joined the Buccaneers last spring and is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he played every game and registered 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries, four passes defended and a couple of defensive touchdowns.

While he is far from the same dominant force from his Detroit Lions days, Suh remains a productive player and should certainly help Tampa Bay's defensive front.

The 33-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Nebraska, was originally selected by the Lions with the second overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Suh immediately established himself as one of the top defensive players in football, racking up 66 tackles, 10 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive score during his rookie year, making the Pro Bowl and earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The Portland native spent the first five seasons of his career in Detroit, making four trips to the Pro Bowl and notching First-Team All-Pro honors three times.

Suh parlayed his success into a massive six-year, $114 million contract with the Miami Dolphins in March 2015, but he ended up being a huge disappointment in South Beach.

As a matter of fact, Suh only made it three years into his contract before the Dolphins cut him.

He then linked up with the Los Angeles Rams for one season in 2018, helping the Rams reach the Super Bowl before signing with the Bucs last May.
