The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seem prepared to part ways with Jameis Winston and they could be in the market to add a quarterback in free agency or through the draft. While sharing his predictions for notable free agents, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports believes Philip Rivers will land with the Buccaneers this offseason.

Last offseason, Bruce Arians became the head coach in Tampa Bay following a one-year break from coaching. Upon his arrival, everyone was curious to see how Winston performed under Arians' tutelage.

In his lone season with Arians, Winston threw for a career-high 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns. At the same time though, the former No. 1 pick threw a jaw-dropping 30 interceptions. With Winston's inconsistent decision-making, Arians seems content with the idea of moving on from him this offseason.

On the other hand, Rivers has been a name mentioned with the Buccaneers. After a dismal 2019 campaign, the Los Angeles Chargers made it clear that the team won't be re-signing Rivers in free agency. Therefore, after 16 seasons with the Chargers, Rivers is free to sign with any team that's interested in him.

Earlier this offseason, Rivers chose to move his family to Florida to live closer to his family in Tennessee. Also, Rivers' competitiveness is something that likely catches Arians' attention. Even though he's had trouble with turnovers in recent years, Arians would have an easier time reeling him in than Winston.

Of course, Rivers could choose to sign with the Indianapolis Colts due to his prior experience with Frank Reich. But La Canfora believes the Buccaneers are the better overall fit.
