With the dawn of a new decade, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hoping to change for the better.

That apparently will begin with new uniforms.

On Monday, Buccaneers owner Jay Glazer released a statement saying that the club will be donning new attire in 2020:

“We have heard the feedback from our fans loud and clear and have been working with the NFL and our league partners at Nike to usher in a new look as we enter this next decade of Buccaneers football,” said Glazer, via Scott Smith of Tampa Bay's team website. “We look forward to revealing more details in the near future about our official unveiling event which will take place later this spring.”

Details will be unveiled in April.

The Bucs last changed their jerseys in 2014.

It has certainly been a fruitless decade for the Buccaneers, as Tampa Bay did not make the playoffs at all from 2010 through 2019 and is coming off of a season in which it went just 7-9.

As a matter of fact, the Bucs have not made the postseason since the 2007-08 campaign, which represents the longest active playoff drought in the NFC. Only the Cleveland Browns, who last made the postseason back in 2002-03, have been absent longer across the entire NFL.

Whether it has been a poor quarterback situation, a shoddy defense or rampant coaching changes, the Buccaneers have struggled mightily to achieve any sort of success in recent memory.

Of course, Tampa Bay was a force in the early 2000s, riding a dominant defense to a Super Bowl title during the 2002-03 campaign, but this current Bucs squad makes those days seem like they were centuries ago.
