After helping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win Super Bowl 55 last month, tight end Rob Gronkowski is not about to ride off into the sunset and go back into retirement. Gronkowski says he will return to help the Buccaneers defend their Super Bowl title next season.

Via TMZ Sports:

“I'm back, man!” the 31-year-old said, “I will be back playing football, man. I love the game of football. I loved playing last year. I had a great time.”

According to the report, the four-time champion took a three-week break after Super Bowl 55 and is now preparing for next season by having four straight workouts. Rob Gronkowski's return is certainly good news for the Tampa Bay offense, which will still have seven-time champion quarterback Tom Brady under center along with a talented receiving corps that was instrumental in their Super Bowl victory.

The five-time Pro Bowler spent his first nine seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots with Brady and head coach Bill Belichick. But he retired in March 2019 after helping the Patriots win Super Bowl 53, citing the toll of the injuries he suffered throughout his career as a reason.

But after more than a year of rest, Gronkowski was traded by New England to Tampa Bay, joining his longtime quarterback as they tried to win without their longtime head coach. The five-time All-Pro tight end played all 16 games this past season for the Buccaneers, finishing with 45 receptions for 623 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Gronk saved his best for last, as he scored two first-half touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55 to set the tone for the lopsided 31-9 victory. Now, surrounded by Brady and more talent around him, Rob Gronkowski wants to run it back and add a fifth Super Bowl to his growing collection.
