Following Tampa Bay Buccaneers star tight end Rob Gronkowski's return to NFL after a year in retirement, the former New England Patriots Super Bowl champion is working to get his body in shape—by shooting some hoops.

Rob Gronkowski, 31, shared a photo of himself on Instagram on Friday of the tight end posing in mid-air with the basketball in his hands, calling the physical fitness “Quarantine NBA.”

Rob Gronkowski, the 6-foot-6 five-time Pro Bowl tight end, boasted his Jordan brand sneakers while playing basketball with some friends in quarantine while the COVID-19 pandemic still prevents United States residents to freely commute and congregate in public spaces away from their homes.

A three-time Super Bowl champion, Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement from professional football last year following nine seasons with the Patriots, who selected him in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of Arizona. The four-time All-Pro First Team member named, in part, the difficulty recovering from pain inflicted during the brutal NFL season and the league's refusal to deregulate marijuana restrictions as a reason for his early retirement.

After a year away from the sport—and a brief professional wrestling career venture—Rob Gronkowski announced his return to football, with the Patriots trading him to the Buccaneers to rejoin New England teammate star quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay in light of the future Hall of Fame signal-caller's free agency decision to sign with the Buccaneers.

If Rob Gronkowski hopes to sign with an NBA franchise to be like Mike, though, he may have to keep waiting since the league is in hiatus due to the public health crisis. The NBA plans on resuming its reason in the coming months but without a firm date yet.
