After spending nine years in New England, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is entering uncharted territories for the first time in his career. Despite being the great player that he is, the five-time Pro Bowler is still not exempted from receiving a tongue-lashing from Bucs head coach Bruce Arians.

“It gets motivating, for sure. When the head coach is getting on you, it motivates you. It’s all for a good, positive way. It may be colorful language, but that’s fine. It’s the game of football,” Gronkowski said, via Jenna Laine of ESPN.com. “It’s all to make yourself better. It’s all to make the team better. And that’s what it’s all about. It’s good to have that too. . . . It keeps you going, it keeps you motivated.”

A motivated Rob Gronkowski should be a scary sight for anyone but Tampa Bay. The former Arizona Wildcat is entering the upcoming season with high hopes of rejuvenating his career and continuing his legacy on the gridiron. He joins long-time teammate Tom Brady, who also aims to do the same and prove that he still has a lot left in the tank.

The arrival of the two future Hall of Famers instantly turned the Buccaneers from a mediocre team to a serious playoff contender. Tampa Bay aims to make its first playoff appearance since 2017 and score its first playoff win under head coach Bruce Arians.

The returning Gronkowski and the rest of the new-look Buccaneers will first see action on September 13 against division rival New Orleans Saints.
