Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski was reminded of his heydays with Tom Brady after their record-setting performance in Week 13.

Against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Brady connected with Gronk for their 89th and 90th career regular-season touchdowns. In the process, they climbed to second in the all-time leaderboard for the most touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo–trailing only Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison who had 112 TDs together.

After the contest, Gronk was naturally hyped after their epic record. The Buccaneers TE then reflected on his career alongside Brady and how they have been developing their connection since he landed with the New England Patriots back in 2010.

“We go way back — back in the heyday with that connection. I mean we've been working on that since 2010, and it definitely paid off there. I would say that second touchdown definitely brought us back to the heyday …” Gronkowski said.

Here's that second touchdown of the game (and their 90th) that Gronk was talking about:

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have an undeniable chemistry and connection, and it won't be surprising if they end up breaking the record if they stay together for another year.

For what it's worth, Gronk recently talked about his connection with Brady and how they have thrived together even now that they are with the Buccaneers. According to the 32-year-old, Tom knows what he is thinking before he thinks about it.

“He knows already what I’m thinking, before I even know what I’m thinking,” Gronk said of his telepathy with Brady.

Of course the Buccaneers beat the Falcons, and rather easily with a 30-17 scoreline. Brady threw a total of four TDs in the contest, with the other two heading to Leonard Fournette and Cameron Brate.

With the way Brady and Gronk are playing, though, fans have every reason to expect another Super Bowl contention for Tampa Bay.
