The Madden 21 ratings for players continue to trickle out and the top tight end ratings were revealed on Friday. While he prepares for his debut season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rob Gronkowski received a ridiculously high rating, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

If EA Sports was handing out ratings in 2017, then Gronkowski getting a 95 overall rating wouldn't be a peculiar choice. However, Gronkowski hasn't logged a single snap in the NFL since the 2018 season. Of course, the All-Pro tight end retired after the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2018.

But earlier this offseason, upon seeing his close friend Tom Brady join the Buccaneers, Gronkowski had an itch to return to the NFL. Therefore, he requested to be traded from the Patriots and ended up reuniting with Brady in Tampa Bay.

Without a doubt, Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends to ever suit up in the NFL. At the same time, putting him significantly above Zach Ertz and Mark Andrews is a questionable decision.

The last season that Gronkowski played in, he managed to play in 13 games with the Patriots. The pass-catching tight end would finish the 2018 campaign with 47 receptions for 682 yards and three touchdowns.

Entering the 2020 season, Gronkowski is expected to share targets with fellow tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard. Given that, the five-time Pro Bowler may not produce the stats that were accustomed to seeing from him. Nevertheless, unlike some players, you likely won't hear any complaints from Gronkowski's camp when it comes to his Madden 21 rating.
