Shaquil Barrett has had a career year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 and will be highly sought after in free agency. Despite likely having interest from other teams, Barrett predicts that he'll stay in Tampa Bay alongside Bruce Arians.

Per Eduardo A. Encina in the Tampa Bay Times:

“I don’t think I’m going anywhere,” Barrett said with a smile. “I like the way he thinks and I think the same.”

The Buccaneers' edge rusher seems to be on the same page as his head coach, which is good news for the front office. Barrett also appears to be predicting his future, saying that he'll be present for OTA's with the Buccaneers in 2020.

“I want to be here,” Barrett said. “I’m still going back home to Colorado to train and stuff there, but … I plan on being back here to start (organized team activities) and the season. That’s where I’m looking at right now. It’s the Bucs to lose and I don’t think they’re going to lose it.

The Buccaneers signed Barrett in the offseason to a one-year deal that is worth up to $5 million. Without a doubt, Tampa Bay had arguably the best bargain signing by adding Barrett.

In his first season as a featured pass rusher, Barrett has tallied a career-high 16.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 31 quarterback hits, and six forced fumbles. The 27-year-old outside linebacker's 16.5 sacks are tied with Hall of Famer Warren Sapp for the most sacks by a Buccaneers' player in a single season.

Provided that, Barrett still has two games to set the single-season franchise record for sacks. While he continues to finish the season strong, he is also earning himself more money each and every week.
