Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy missed the first day of offseason workouts amid talk that the team is shopping him, but there isn't much interest. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the team isn't committed to having him on the roster this year. He is owed a base salary of $13 million but it's not guaranteed and last week coach Bruce Arians did admit he has seen McCoy lose a step the last few years.

“He's not as disruptive as he was four years ago. He's still a good player,” Arians said via NFL.com. “If he's here, he's our starting three-[technique]. No doubt about that. Would I like to see him more disruptive? Yeah. We can use him. If he's here, he's going to be used a bunch. It's just a matter of what happens.”

On Monday, Arians didn't seem to be in a great mood and said that he is going to only talk about players that were at practice.

“As a coach, I coach who I got,” Arians said. “I’ll coach the guys who are there. Now guys who don’t show up? Don’t ask me about them. I’m not talking about them. Because I’m talking about the guys who show up. Hopefully, we’ll see how that goes.’’

If the team can't find a trade partner for McCoy it seems like the writing might be on the wall. McCoy would likely be released. The move would also give the team some valuable cap space with the team being right near the cap line already.
