Jameis Winston's time in Tampa Bay may be over. But that does not mean he won't remain a popular figure in the Buccaneers' locker room.

How do we know that? Well, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN.com, some Buccaneers players have avoided reacting to the signing of Tom Brady on social media out of respect for Winston, who is still a free agent.

Winston's friends on the Buccaneers want to see where their now-former teammate ends up before expressing any type of public excitement over the addition of Brady. Laine adds that the players are looking forward to playing with Brady.

Winston was originally selected by the Buccaneers with the first overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He showed some promise early on, making the Pro Bowl as soon as his rookie season. He also displayed some improvement in Year 2. However, since then, Winston's progression has largely stalled.

The 24-year-old missed eight games between 2017 and 2018 due to injuries and poor production. The latter of which resulted in him being briefly benched.

Winston then had a Jekyll-and-Hyde year this past season, leading the NFL with 5,109 passing yards to go along with 33 touchdown passes. That was the good. The bad? He tossed up 30 interceptions, which was the worst in the league.

It marked the first time in history that a player threw for 30 touchdowns and 30 picks in the same season, which is a fairly dubious distinction.

With most other teams already having their quarterback situations figured out, it will certainly be interesting to see where Winston lands.
