Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has once again doubled down on the notion that Rob Gronkowski is the greatest tight end in NFL history.

In speaking during Sirius XM’s “Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray” podcast, Brady laid out a case on why Gronkowski is the best player to ever play the tight end position.

“[Rob Gronkowski is] an incredible player,” Brady said. “He’s a great teammate and I think what he does day in and day out to prepare himself is what blows me away. I think he’s the greatest tight end in NFL history.

“What he does in the run game, in the past game, the kind of teammate he is. He’s amazing. When you talk about those statistics from a team standpoint, we’re so much better when he’s out there because of the caliber that he is.”

As Brady pointed out, Gronkowski has been quite valuable to the Buccaneers offense. Even as the offense has dealt with a multitude of injuries, the four-time Super Bowl-winning tight end has remained a reliable target for Brady, which includes a total of six receiving touchdowns in 12 regular season games over the campaign.

Brady simply sees that there will never be another tight end like Gronkowski.

“It’s not just another guy in a jersey,” Brady said. “We should all appreciate the amazing things that he’s accomplished because every year someone is trying to find the next Rob Gronkowski. And that’s a very, very flattering thing for someone to say.

“All the scouts want to go, ‘This guy is going to be the next Rob Gronkowski.' And I’m always like, ‘Nope, there’s only one Rob Gronkowski.'”

From the Super Bowl wins to the multitude of records that he holds, Gronkowski sure has made a strong case to be the best tight end in league history. He sure can strengthen this case with potent success in the Buccaneers’ upcoming playoff run.
