Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady led a group of teammates this week in multiple practices, including one on Thursday morning captured by local press after the NFLPA advised the future Hall of Fame gunslinger against convening.

Brady, 42, quoted former U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt in the caption of an Instagram post, defying safety protocols, via The Athletic's Greg Auman.

Brady signed a fully guaranteed two-year, $50 million contract with the Buccaneers in the spring, departing from his longtime New England Patriots after 20 years. The six-time Super Bowl champion was spotted on Thursday with teammates again, including three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans in tow, in Tampa.

Individuals at the Buccaneers' training facility tested positive for the coronavirus, the team announced last Saturday.

NFLPA medical director Dr. Thom Baker pleaded with players to avoid contact with one another until the start of training camp, which is slated for July 28.

“We are working on the best mitigation procedures at team facilities for both training camps and the upcoming season, and believe that it is in the best interest of all players that we advise against any voluntary joint practices before training camp commences.”

Brady's gung-ho approach has drawn ire due to the mounting public-health crisis in the U.S. as the second wave of COVID-19 reaches more people and threatens to take more lives in what has become a nationwide tragedy.
