New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft made no bones about his cheering preferences ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kraft made it clear he is rooting for former Pats quarterback Tom Brady and the Bucs during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning:

“I’m rooting for Tom Brady,” Robert Kraft said of the Buccaneers QB, via CBS Boston. “I’m so excited. We’ve had some great communications and he is such a special human being. We were privileged to have him here for two decades, and he’s one of the finest human beings I’ve ever met.

“He knows how to lead, and I wish him well,” said Kraft of the Patriots turned Buccaneers gunslinger. “I really hope he wins Sunday.”

It comes as no surprise Kraft wants to see his former quarterback come out on top. He and Brady established a strong relationship during their time together in New England, a bond that still appears just as tight as ever.

Of course, Brady's work ethic and success in New England set the tone for the relationship to blossom. The former sixth-round pick went from QB3 to second string to starter essentially in a span of one season, leading the Patriots to the 2001 Super Bowl over the “Greatest Show on Turf” St. Louis Rams. He never looked back, winning five more Lombardi Trophies as the face of one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history.

Brady's growingly tenuous dynamic with head coach Bill Belichick was ultimately one of the reasons he left the Patriots this past spring. But Kraft still holds Brady in the highest esteem, and wants to see his former quarterback win another title, even if it is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
