Rob Gronkowski has officially retired from the NFL, ending months of speculations about his future and whether he'd return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or not. Of course Tom Brady was among the first ones to react to the announcement, as he paid tribute to his former teammate.

Brady showed his appreciation for Gronk, whom he played with the most during his time with the New England Patriots. It is also worth noting that the veteran tight end followed the star quarterback in Tampa Bay and joined the Buccaneers, coming out of his first retirement just to pair up with him again.

On his Instagram post, the superstar QB reflected on his relationship with Gronkowski and how incredible he was as a teammate, as well as their accomplishments together.

“Teammate, friend, brother, just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of Gronk. Nobody has ever embodied the idea of ‘leaving it all out on the field' like Rob has throughout his entire career. Every single snap, I knew that no matter how many people you put in front of him, he was going to get to his spot,” Brady wrote alongside a photo of him and Gronkowski with the Buccaneers.

“Even more important is the person he was off the field. Focused when he had to be, and FUN the rest of the time. Having Gronk in your locker room was every NFL players dream. I’m proud of all that we’ve accomplished together, and even more excited for all you have ahead of you.

“Congrats Gronk, you deserve it.”

Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady won four Super Bowl titles together, with their last one coming in 2020 after they both moved to Tampa Bay following years of domination with the Patriots.

They are of the best, if not the greatest QB-TE duo the NFL has ever seen. True enough, whenever someone discusses the greatness of Brady, Gronk's legend is more than likely to be mentioned.
