The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not expecting Kyle Trask to replace Tom Brady anytime soon. Still, the team is clearly giddy about Trask, who apparently has some Andrew Luck in him.

Multiple Buccaneers coaches drew parallels between Trask and the former Indianapolis Colts star quarterback. Quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen said he has not had a rookie signal-caller like Trask (probably in terms of build and arm talent) since Luck's rookie season:

“I think probably the last time I really just had a guy like (Trask) was Luck his rookie year,” Christensen said, via Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times. “And that was one of the most fun years there was, just because you come in with just kind of a clean slate and you start rolling.”

Buccaneers head coach and former Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians made a similar comparison, praising Trask's mental capacity:

“Mentally-wise, (Trask) is not far behind what Andrew did in the same offense, and what Andrew did that year is unbelievable,” Arians said Tuesday, via Knight. “I’m not saying he’s Andrew Luck, but mentally he’s still really sharp.”

That is some high praise for Trask, especially considering the former Florida Gators star was picked in the second round while Luck was the No. 1 overall selection in 2012.

Nobody in Tampa Bay is expecting Trask to be anything like Luck, at least not yet. The Buccaneers extended Brady's contract in the offseason and will likely ride the seven-time Super Bowl champion so long as he continues to win.

However, Trask is clearly turning heads and could be someone who makes big strides under the tutelage of Brady, Arians and Christensen.
