The Tampa Bay Buccaneers left a statement against division rival Carolina Panthers after their 31-17 home opener victory in Week 2 proceedings. It was the first win of the season for the revamped squad after suffering a 34-23 loss to reigning division leader New Orleans Saints last week.

The 21-year veteran was visibly all smiles in a short video posted on his Twitter account after securing the win.

The new environment in Tampa Bay failed to dampen Tom Brady's performance against the Panthers. He was his old productive self and threw a total of 217 passing yards on 23-of-35 passes completed to go with a passing touchdown and an interception.

Running back Leonard Fournette made noise with his 103 rushing yards on 12 carries and two rushing touchdowns scored for the team. Another prolific rusher in Ronald Jones ran 23 yards on 7 touches along with a score on the endzone of his own.

Pro Bowl wideout Mike Evans seemed to be in better playing condition as he racked up 107 receiving yards on 7 receptions while adding another touchdown for the Bucs. Third-year wideout Justin Watson generated 48 yards on two touches while veteran LeSean McCoy also contributed 26 rushing yards on 5 carries.

The Bucs' defensive line was just as dangerous with linebackers Devin White and Lavonte David making life miserable for the Panthers' offensive rotation. Rookie safety Antoine Winfield Jr. also made a splashing home debut as he tallied 8 total tackles in the game.

The Buccaneers' offense will even be more loaded with the looming return of Pro Bowl wideout Chris Godwin next week. Tom Brady and the rest of the team will look to assert their dominance against the winless Denver Broncos on September 27.
