The world has lost yet another icon in the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She recently succumbed to complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer on Friday at her home in Washington at the age of 87. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady paid his respects to the late lawyer via a post on Twitter:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg's immeasurable impact on the world was felt even by athletes belonging from a younger generation. She was remembered as the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court only after Sandra Day O'Connor. She eventually served a total of 27 years on the nation's highest court while also becoming its most prominent member throughout the years.

As noted by Tom Brady in his tweet, the associate justice was known by many to have spent a considerable part of her legal career as an advocate for the advancement of gender equality and women's rights. She also held the position of a volunteer attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union and was a member of its board of directors and one of its general counsels back in the 1970s.

Ten years later, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, where she served until her appointment to the Supreme Court. She continuously received public attention during this time and was primarily remembered in American popular culture for her liberal dissents and refusal to step down from her post.

Hopefully, the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life will blaze a trail for the younger generation to take on and inspire them to spark significant change while in the process of doing so, especially in today's society.
