Buccaneers QB Tom Brady responds to Bill Belichick’s comments on playing until 50

Buccaneers, Patriots, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady went viral last week when he claimed that he can play until 50-years-old. Considering the way Brady is shining at 44, it’s not exactly a huge longshot.

His ex-coach, Bill Belichick, responded to those comments on Monday and showed a full belief that Brady could pull it off:

“I’m sure Tom would know better than anybody, so if anybody can do it it’s him,” Belichick said.

The Buccaneers star then showed his gratitude for Belichick’s comments on Tuesday, via PFT:

“I’ve always appreciated the encouraging words of Coach Belichick, and it’s served me pretty well.”

Of course, Brady became a superstar under Belichick with the Patriots before taking his talents to the Buccaneers last summer. He instantly shined in Tampa, winning a Super Bowl in his very first season. Lets’s also be honest, Belichick isn’t exactly the type of guy to go out and praise a player unless he truly deserves it.

While Tom Brady would like to play until 50, you’d have to believe the body is going to break down sooner rather than later. He did just have a serious knee injury in the offseason as well. But, if the Buccaneers can continue to protect their prized possession on a consistent basis, maybe it will truly be possible. Only time will tell.
