While fierce rivals on the field, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller appear to good friends off it.

In a recent throwback post on Instagram, Miller poked fun at the legendary quarterback.

As you can see, Miller is making the bold claim that Broncos kicker Brandon McManus is, in fact, the GOAT and Brady is just “some guy.” The image was taken at a past Kentucky Derby, which was postponed this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The new Buccaneers star was game for a little ribbing and responded with an amusing barb of his own in the comments of the image, stating: “That’s the only time you are allowed to get that close to me without a penalty flag.”

Both Brady and Miller have had storied NFL careers, though Miller likely has a few more peak years in him at age 31 than the 42-year-old Brady does. No shade to the legend, though, as he has accrued a myriad of eye-popping numbers over the years before his move to the Buccaneers — six Super Bowl wins, second all-time in passing yards (74,571), second all-time in passing touchdowns (541) and fifth all-time in passer rating (97.0).

For his part, Miller already has 8 Pro Bowl appearance in his 10 seasons in the league, and he also nabbed a Super Bowl ring in 2015 in Peyton Manning’s final season.

Though Von Miller and Tom  Brady will be unlikely to have the same memorable matchups they had as conference rivals in the AFC, there is still a chance for the two stars to hang out off the field – once the pandemic dissipates somewhat.
