Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is looking forward to playing with wideout Antonio Brown again after the Bucs signed AB for the rest of the 2020 season.
Brown will make his Buccaneers debut in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday night. He's currently serving a suspension.
During an interview with ESPN, Brady talked about his involvement in the Brown addition, via Bleacher Report:
“Well I’ve watched Antonio for a long time, and then had the opportunity to play with him last year for a short period of time, and [GM] Jason [Licht] and Bruce [Arians] felt there was a right opportunity to add him to a really talented group that we already have. I certainly didn’t object to it. I think the more good players we have on our team, the better we can become,” Tom Brady said of Antonio Brown joining the Buccaneers.
“He’s joining a very deep group of players at that position. … Antonio’s going to work as hard as he always has. He’s a very hard worker, everyone knows that. We’ll see what we can do when he gets on the field.”
Brady and Brown played one game together on the New England Patriots in 2019. AB is no doubt one of the most talented wide receivers in NFL history, but his behavior and antics off the field are a cause for concern.
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has already said Brown will be cut the second he acts out or becomes a distraction. Tampa Bay is 5-2 on the season and can't afford to have Brown come into the locker room and be a terror.
In his first season with the Buccaneers, Brady has thrown for 18 touchdowns and 1,910 yards while completing 65.7 percent of his passes. He's still one of the best QB's in the game despite being the oldest player in the NFL.
