A number of players took to Twitter over the weekend to discuss their frustrations with the NFL in its lack of transparency and planning with respect to health and safety protocols for the 2020 season. But Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is urging his peers to trust the NFLPA and believe they will negotiate in good faith, via Twitter.

Obviously, Brady's voice and star power carry a lot of weight, and many players might be glad to know he at least said they NFLPA should demand “necessary answers” from the league.

However, the six-time Super Bowl champion is a bit of an interesting messenger on the “health and safety” front.

Brady and some other Buccaneers went against the NFLPA's warning not to organize workouts in June, just days after medical director Thom Mayer said players should cease practicing together until the start of training camps in July.

In any case, it is easy to see why Brady is attempting to remain optimistic.

The future Hall of Fame signal-caller has been preparing for a potentially explosive debut campaign with the Buccaneers. Brady lacked a lot of talent at the skill positions in New England, but that is hardly the case in Tampa Bay.

Brady has a pair of Pro Bowl wide receivers in Buccaneers stars Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and the Buccaneers reunited him with former All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski. It should also be interesting to see how Tampa Bay uses running back Ronald Jones, who is a dependable receiver out of the backfield.

There are still unknowns and hurdles as teams prepare for training camps. But the Buccaneers superstar is channeling his energy elsewhere and letting the leaders in the NFLPA take charge.
