Tom Brady has been under scrutiny recently because of his workouts with other members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite the NFLPA advising players to refrain from holding private workouts. Christian Fauria, a former teammate of Brady and current radio host on WEEI Radio Network, said that Brady's current behavior is ‘uncharacteristic'.

“It’s so uncharacteristic,” Faura said. “If you go back and look at some the old posts of guys who left and got away its like Shawshank Redemption. Danny Amendola. Gronkowski, remember that? ‘Be happy you’re free.’ It’s the same thing. He’s Andy Dufresne who is finally free. He’s in the river and he has his hands up, filled with poop and smells like crap and he’s like, ‘Finally, I’m free. Let me enjoy it. Nobody is going to break my stride. I’m going to be me.’ This is who he is. … The guy we saw for the last 20 years? That wasn’t Tom Brady, that was Clark Kent. What we’re seeing now is the real Tom Brady.”

While Brady was with the New England Patriots for 20 seasons, he was viewed as someone that couldn't do any wrong. After ruffling some feathers due to his ongoing workouts, Fauria believes Brady needs to be the former version of himself.

“To me, this new Brady is just like new Coke. He’s going to go back to being the old Tom Brady,” Fauria noted. “Just like everybody hated the new Coke he is going to go back and they just got rid of it like it never existed. He has to go back to being the old Tom Brady if he’s going to make it through this.”

Of course, Fauria is stationed in Boston and once played for the Patriots with the 42-year-old. Therefore, he likely has a slight bias when it comes to how the former Patriots QB carries himself.

Regardless of what Fauria says, the veteran QB likely won't cease his workouts anytime soon. If anything, fans should get accustomed to this motivated version of Brady moving forward.
