Upon the release of the NFL Schedule on Wednesday, it was revealed early in the morning that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would start their title defense and kickoff the 2021 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 9.

It's an NFL tradition to have the defending Super Bowl champion play in the opener on the first Thursday of the season yet, it's not even close to the most talked about game for the Buccaneers. That's because Tom Brady will be returning to New England this year, and the cost of admission could set records.

With the matchup between the Buccaneers and the Patriots set in stone for week 4 in Foxboro, many are bracing for record ticket prices for a game that isn't the Super Bowl. This according to WBZ CBS Boston.

John Higgins owns Higs Tickets and he told CBS Boston that ticket crunch for this game has been anticipated for months now.

“It started not only with the schedule coming out, but it started when they announced he was coming here. Months and months ago,” Higgins said. “It could be close to $1,000 just to get into the nosebleeds upstairs. It could be a record for an NFL game that’s not a Super Bowl,’ Higgins said.

That's right, $1,000 big ones just to sit in the upper deck in Foxboro to watch Tom Brady's return to New England in a Buccaneers uniform. If it proves to be true, it will certainly be in the running for the most expensive ticket for an NFL regular season game in recent memory.

Brady and the Buccaneers are looking to repeat as champions and with the Patriots aggressive approach in free agency this offseason, the week 4 affair could prove to be an early litmus test for both sides. If you want to attend, get ready to back up the Brinks truck.
