Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is unsure on whether Tom Brady has played in his final game with the team, but he much aspires to see him return for the 2022 campaign.

During his post-game press conference following the Buccaneers’ NFC divisional round loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Evans was asked whether he will make a push to convince Brady to return for a third season in Tampa Bay. The veteran wideout simply hopes that the veteran passer will commit to playing next season.

“I don't have to say nothing to him,” Evans said. “He's self-motivated, he knows what he wants and hopefully we get him back next year.

“The best player ever. One of the best teammates and one of the best leaders I've ever seen, so hopefully we can get him back.”

Regardless of what Brady ends up deciding on in the offseason, Evans has been “appreciative” of the fact that the longtime quarterback even opted to take his talents to Tampa Bay.

“I'm super appreciative that he came to Tampa Bay,” Evans said. “I mean, nobody had no clue he was even leaving New England.

“Very privileged to play with him.”

Prior to the Buccaneers’ NFC divisional round clash against the Los Angeles Rams, there was growing chatter regarding Brady’s future with the team. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport noted on Sunday that there is “uncertainty” on whether Brady will return for next season, as the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback will “consider” calling it a career.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians did note ahead of the playoff matchup against the Rams that he would be “shocked” if Brady did not return for the 2022 season.

For Brady, he mentioned in his post-game press conference following the loss to the NFC West powerhouse that he plans to take it “day by day” regarding his final decision on this matter.

More so, Brady did add in September that he aspires to play in Tampa Bay “for many years.”

A pivotal offseason sure awaits the Buccaneers.
