With NFL free agency ramping up, rumors are swirling regarding where major free agents will end up. Per Mike Sando of The Athletic, one NFL general manager has heard that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are “hot” on Teddy Bridgewater.

The Buccaneers' quarterback situation is one of the biggest storylines of this offseason, and it truly feels like the team could go in several different ways in the future. On one hand, incumbent starter and former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston is coming off one of the most head-scratching years in NFL history.

The 26-year-old completed 60.7 percent of his passes for a league-high 5,109 yards. Winston also ranked second in the NFL with 33 passing touchdowns, but he also threw an incredible 30 interceptions — far more than any other QB in the league.

Winston's turnover problem and inability to lead the Buccaneers to many wins in recent years could mean that the former Heisman winner's time in Tampa Bay is coming to a close.

If that's the case, it appears the team is eyeing Bridgewater as a replacement.

The former first-round pick showed incredible promise in his first few years with the Minnesota Vikings before injuries quickly derailed his career.

Last year, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound quarterback played backup to future Hall of Famer Drew Brees. However, an injury to Brees early in the season gave Bridgewater his first real shot since 2015.

In five games as the starter, Bridgewater led the Saints to an undefeated record while completing 67.9 percent of his passes for 1,384 yards, nine touchdowns and only two interceptions.

Both quarterbacks are expected to demand hefty deals this offseason, but it appears Tampa Bay may prefer the former Louisville star.
